Wolfgang Eilmes

Wolfgang Eilmes (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German photographer .

Life

Eilmes was trained at the vocational school for photography in Berlin and graduated in 1975 with a journeyman's examination. He then worked for a short time as a photo assistant with Michael Schmidt , with whom he was a student at the Volkshochschule Kreuzberg in 1973. He chose to do press photography and worked for various magazines and newspapers for several years. In 1980 he became a photo journalist at the picture headquarters of the German Press Agency (DPA) in Frankfurt am Main . Since October 1990 he has been an editorial photographer for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).

Eilmes is active locally, nationally and internationally for the FAZ and contributed pictures to reports on the aid organization Cargo Human Care , on child labor in India or on the civil war in Eastern Congo by the Africa correspondent of the newspaper Thomas Scheen .

Eilmes is married and has two children.
