Wolfgang Ferchl

Wolfgang Ferchl (* 1955 in Lindau ) is a German publisher .

Act

After graduating from the Bodensee-Gymnasium Lindau in 1975 , he began studying natural sciences, history and philosophy in Constance .

He then worked for various book publishers in Konstanz, Cologne, Marburg and Hamburg.

As head of programming at Eichborn-Verlag from mid-1997 to 2002, Ferchl was responsible for programming, press and law. During this time he was also responsible for the books by Walter Moers (" The Little Asshole ") and " The Other Library " by Hans Magnus Enzensberger .

From July 2003 to the end of 2008, Wolfgang Ferchl was the publisher of Piper Verlag in Munich (he shared management with Hans-Joachim Hartmann and Christa Beiling ). In July 2009 Ferchl took over the management of Knaus Verlag , which belongs to the Random House publishing group .

From January 2019 Ferchl will be working as a freelance editor, for example as a "freelance editor at large".
