Wolfgang Fuchs (keyboardist)
Wolfgang Paule Fuchs (born December 7, 1948 in East Berlin ) is a German musician and composer . He was best known as the front man of the group Pond .
Life
Fuchs graduated as a telecommunications fitter and graduated from high school in 1968. From 1967 he played in the bands Wegas, Joco Dev and Babylon as a drummer . He got his nickname Paule because of Paul McCartney . In 1978 he founded the band Pond, where he played electronic music first as a drummer and then as a keyboardist . The band released two albums in the GDR with a keyboard-only line-up. In 1993, Fuchs founded the record label PONDerosa Records.
From 1996 to 2003 Fuchs performed without a band. Then he teamed up again with the keyboardist and long-time Pond member Harald Wittkowski. In 2006 Fuchs' book on the history of Pond was published. Fuchs has been performing as a soloist again since 2008. In 2009 he created the composition Painting at a Vernissage for paintings by Willi Sitte , which was published on CD.
