Wolfgang Grübel (born February 23, 1956 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender Wolfgang Grübel moved to the second division DJK Gütersloh in the summer of 1974 . He made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on May 24, 1975 in the Gütersloher 2-4 defeat at VfL Osnabrück . It was his only second division game for Gütersloh, with whom he was relegated to the Westphalia Association at the end of the season. From 1978 Grübel played for FC Gütersloh , which arose from a merger of the football departments of DJK and SVA Gütersloh . Four years later he moved to the second division promoted TuS Schloß Neuhaus from Paderborn , with whom he relegated after only one season and left the club with an unknown goal.

In 2007, Grübel was temporarily the coach of FC Gütersloh 2000 and was the club's sporting director for many years. In 2012, Grübel took over the district league team Viktoria Rietberg as sporting director. After promotion to the district league in summer 2013, Grübel temporarily took over the coaching position together with Max Heinrich during the winter break of the 2013/14 season. For the 2014/15 season, the two handed over the coaching office to Tim Brinkmann , up to then a player at FC Gütersloh 2000.
