Wolfgang Heer (Manager)

Wolfgang Heer (born February 7, 1956 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German manager . From 2009 to March 1, 2020 he was CEO of Südzucker AG , the largest European sugar manufacturer.

Life

Heer studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and received his doctorate there in 1987. He then went to Südzucker as a consultant. After various positions at Südzucker, in 1997 he took over the management of Freiberger Lebensmittel GmbH, which is part of Südzucker and which produces frozen pizza. In spring 2008, Heer was appointed to the Südzucker executive board, where he is responsible for sugar sales. Since summer 2009 he has been the spokesman for the board as the successor to Theo Spettmann. He resigned his office prematurely on March 1, 2020. His successor as head of the Mannheim sugar company was Niels Pörksen .

Heer is married and has two sons.

In 2012, Heer spoke out in favor of extending the European sugar market regime to 2020.
