Wolfgang Herbort

Wolfgang Herbort (* 1941 in Stuttgart ) is a German theater employee who since 1980 as a decoy in the ARD telecast Candid Camera? got known.

Life

Wolfgang Herbort worked as a stage manager at the Staatstheater Stuttgart , when he was part of the recording team for the show Do you understand fun? came at the then Süddeutscher Rundfunk . After he had acted in one of the films, Kurt Felix became aware of Herbort and cast him in the role of the decoy for the pranks with the hidden camera. “The little fat one”, as Herbort was called by Felix, has played in several hundred films for many years since the first broadcast, and he says he stopped counting at 750.

Herbort's first use was in an article in which test eaters were looking for a soup, who were then supposed to comment on the product with praise, even though the soup was inedible. After Herbort's face became too famous, he worked behind the camera as a coordinator, breaking up the stories and having conversations with those involved.
