Wolfgang Jenewein

Wolfgang (Peter) Jenewein (born March 27, 1969 in Munich ) is a German and Austrian business economist. He has been Professor of Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen and Director of the Institute for Customer Insight (ICI-HSG) since 2011 .

Life

Jenewein studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and then completed a degree in economics from 1993 to 1996 at the University of Innsbruck . He then did his doctorate and habilitation at the University of St. Gallen.

After his habilitation, he was offered a professorship for personnel management and further education at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen for short). From 2010 to 2011 he was also Academic Director of the RWTH International Academy before he was appointed Full Professor of Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen in 2011. From 2011 to 2018 Jenewein was a member of the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen and Academic Director of the Executive MBA Program. Since 2011 he has also been director at the Institute for Customer Insight (ICI-HSG).

Wolfgang Jenewein's research and teaching focuses on positive leadership, the cultural transformation of organizations, and the management of high-performance teams in business and sport. He lectures at the University of St. Gallen, the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto) and RWTH Aachen University and has received several awards for this - including the “Credit Suisse Best Teaching Award” from the University of St. Gallen and in May 2016 in October 2018 with the "Best Teacher Worldwide of the Academic Year 2018 Award" of the renowned, international CEMS program. In addition, Wolfgang Jenewein was named in the spring of 2016 by “ Focus ” magazine as one of the five most influential leadership coaches in Germany.

Wolfgang Jenewein advises and coaches large international corporations at board level and works with various high-performance sports teams. He is also the academic director of the CAS Change & Innovation Management and CAS Sport Management program, two further training courses that the ICI-HSG at the University of St. Gallen conducts in cooperation with Wladimir Klitschko and the Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 .

His list of publications includes numerous books and academic articles in leading journals and magazines.

Private

Wolfgang Jenewein has been married since 2010 and has three children.

He is a CrossFit Masters athlete and regularly takes part in international competitions. In 2018 he came second at the Austrian Champions Day (Age Category 45+). A year later he was fourth in the Cyprus Throwdown (Age Category 50+). In the same year he took first place in the Crossfit Open competitions in Austria and thus became Fittest Man in Austria (Age Category 50-54).
