Wolfgang Mohr (athlete)

Wolfgang Mohr (born March 18, 1952 in Oberhausen ) is a former German pole vaulter .

From 1974 to 1978 Mohr appeared in the German national team nine times, his best international placement was fifth place at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 1976 in Munich.

Mohr began his career at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , at the German athletics championships in 1974 he finished sixth with 4.90 m. At the end of 1974 Mohr switched to TV Wattenscheid 01 , at the German indoor championships in 1975 he took third place for the Wattenscheid team with 5.05 m. The following year he reached 5.20 m in the hall and took second place at the same height as the winner Günther Lohre . In 1976, Mohr again took second place behind Lohre with 5.10 m.

He set his personal best of 5.41 m on June 17, 1976 in Duisburg-Rheinhausen . His son Malte Mohr is also successful as a pole vaulter.
