Wolfgang Pav (born October 5, 1943 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and historian.

Life

In 1962 he graduated from the Humanist Gymnasium G 13 in Vienna. This was followed by studies at the University of World Trade. In addition, he worked initially as a commercial clerk and from 1965 as a journalist for various press services. From 1969 he was an editor at the press service of the Paneuropean Union Austria. From 1972 to 2005 he was an editor, from 1981 a senior editor in various functions in the current service at ORF television in the areas of domestic politics and "House of Representatives". Pav was head of the program "Wir", head of the "Zeit im Bild" service and, most recently, head of the current sports department.

In autumn 2002, during a year of educational leave, he began studying history at the University of Vienna . The focus of the course was in the area of ​​recent and recent history, above all dealing with National Socialism, fundamentalism, the economic history of the 20th century, as well as the history of Croatia, Dalmatia and Bosnia / Herzegovina.
