Wolfgang Roth (moderator)

Wolfgang Roth (born October 2, 1954 in Cologne ) is a German radio presenter.

In the early 1980s, Roth hosted the private Belgian local station Radio Benelux . Together with his colleague Esther from November 1983 to January 1984 the alarm radio and in March and April 1984 the Saturday meeting five times at WDR 2 . From July 1984 he was a regular presenter at Westdeutscher Rundfunk . There he also moderated the Schlagerrallye , a listener hit parade on WDR 2, from July 1984 , and thus achieved a high level of awareness. As part of a program reform, the broadcast was moved to WDR 1 in June 1986 . With the conversion of WDR 1 into the youth wave Eins Live on April 1, 1995, the hit rally no longer suited the new target group of the station and was discontinued.

From October 1995 to June 1998, Wolfgang Roth worked as a presenter without a broadcast of his own at the local Bergisch broadcaster Radio Berg and until 2000 as a contributor. Since January 2001 Roth has been terminally ill with myelitis and has been paralyzed on one side since then and has to rely on a wheelchair for a long time.
