Wolfgang Schlicht

Wolfgang Schlicht (* 1952 in Mengerskirchen ) is a German sports scientist  and university professor.

Life

Schlicht studied sports science and political science at the University of Giessen . He also submitted his doctorate in Gießen in 1987 and completed his habilitation in 1991 at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He worked as a research assistant and senior assistant at the Universities of Kiel (until 1994) and Bochum, and between 1992 and 2001 he held a professorship for the social sciences of sport at the University of Tübingen . In 2001, Schlicht took up a professorship for sports and health sciences at the Institute for Sports and Movement Sciences at the University of Stuttgart . From 1993 to 1995 Schlicht was an assessor on the board of the Working Group for Sport Psychology in Germany and from 1995 to 1997 it was its second chairman. From 2006 to 2009 he was prorector for teaching and further education at the University of Stuttgart.

Schlicht's research activities focus on health sport, the subject areas of sport in old age and sport in the company, questions of well-being, aspects of sport psychology and diagnostics. In 1994 Schlicht was awarded the Carl Diem plaque by the German Sports Association.
