Wolfgang Strack

Wolfgang Strack (* 1956 in Landau in der Pfalz ) is a German installation artist and art historian.

At the documenta IX in Kassel, Wolfgang Strack showed an installation with the comic characters The Smurfs , which were designed by the Belgian draftsman Peyo in 1958 , in the former Gerhart Hauptmann School in the immediate vicinity of the Fridericianum Museum . The cartoon characters were elevated to works of art in showcases.

From February 1997 to 1998, Strack presented Metageniale Meisterwerke, an 8-part solo exhibition at the Kunsthaus Hamburg .

In 1998 the exhibition Wolfgang Strack: The Ten Smallest Anniversary Works took place at the Kunstverein Arnsberg .
