Wolfgang Vater (politician)

Wolfgang Vater (born April 27, 1942 in Berlin ) is the head of the city council of Hofheim am Taunus . He also runs a law firm.

Career

Father was born on April 27, 1942 as the first of two sons to a lawyer and a court interpreter in Berlin. After his father, who had been promoted to the front at a late stage, fell in 1945, his father was placed in the Schnell children's home in Hofheim am Taunus , where his mother originally came from. Later he came to live with his grandfather in Schwanheim . Father attended elementary and middle school in Frankfurt. Later in his life, father attended a boarding school in Ellwangen an der Jagst , the Karls-Gymnasium Stuttgart , spent two years in the Jesuit boarding school in Feldkirch and finally graduated from the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Gymnasium in Korntal near Stuttgart. After studying law in Tübingen and Frankfurt, father moved back to Hofheim with his wife Christel in 1971.

1972 father joined the CDU Hofheim. 1973 father rose to treasurer in the CDU district association. In 1977 he became party leader of the CDU in Hofheim. Since 1981 he has been a member of the Hofheim city parliament and immediately took over the office of CDU parliamentary group leader from Alfons Sahl. In 2001 the parliament elected him head of the city council.

Father is married and has two children. He lives in Hofheim.
