Wolfram Saenger
Wolfram Saenger (born April 23, 1939 in Frankfurt-Höchst ) is a German biochemist and protein crystallographer .
Life
Wolfram Saenger received his doctorate as a chemist in 1965 at the TU Darmstadt on thermodynamics and kinetics of some alpha-cyclodextrin inclusion compounds in aqueous solution . After a postdoctoral stay with Jack Zanas Gougoutas (* 1939) at Harvard University , he carried out research at the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine in Göttingen and received his habilitation in 1972 at the University of Göttingen . Since 1981 he has been a professor at the Free University of Berlin .
