Wolmersbur is a deserted area in the Ittersbach district , a district of the Karlsbad municipality in the southern district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg .

history

Herman, Margraf von Baden, gave the two villages Utilspur, today's Ittersbach, and Wolmersbur in 1232 to the St. Gallen monastery . The settlement was abandoned in the 15th century for unknown reasons. At the end of the 1960s, a small section of the desert at the edge of a quarry was archaeologically examined before it was destroyed.

Legend

Every Advent at midnight, a headless rider is supposed to ride a white steed across the cemetery of the destroyed village.
