Ittersbach is a district of the municipality of Karlsbad in the southern district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The first documentary mention was made in 1232 under the name Utilspur . This name changed over time to today's place name Ittersbach. The Wolmersbur desert lies in the Ittersbach district , which was lost in the 15th century.

Before Ittersbach became one of the founding communities of the Karlsbad community on September 1, 1971 as part of a community reform , it was an independent community. The four other districts of the municipality of Karlsbad (Baden) are Langensteinbach , Spielberg , Auerbach and Mutschelbach .

Economy and Transport

In the district of Ittersbach z. B. the internationally active companies Herrmann Ultraschalltechnik , Harman / Becker and Nero AG have their headquarters.

The closest motorway is the A8 , junction Karlsbad.

Ittersbach is accessed by three stops - Ittersbach Rathaus , Ittersbach Bahnhof and Ittersbach Industrie on the Busenbach – Ittersbach railway line. These are served by the Stadtbahn Karlsruhe's S 11 tram . Ittersbach is also the terminus of bus lines 720 and 715 of the Pforzheimer Verkehrsbetriebe. The Pforzheimer Kleinbahn ran here from 1898 to 1968 , the tracks of which were completely destroyed in the Ittersbach and Ottenhausen (Straubenhardt) area by a tornado that struck the town on July 10, 1968. Since then, however, there has been a bus connection (line 720) of the Pforzheim-Enzkreis transport association (VPE), which replaces the small train.

Leisure and culture

Every year in Ittersbach, the local fools' guild organizes a large carnival parade followed by street carnival with more than 70 groups. The MVE Ittersbach gives a main concert once a year and the associated youth band has several concerts. There are also annual events such as the Christmas sound.

The local clubs organize a street festival every two years.
