Women's Top Volley International

Women's Top Volley International, or Top Volley for short, is a three-day women's volleyball tournament that begins every year on December 27th in Basel . Six of the world's best women's volleyball teams are invited to this tournament. The tournament has been free for spectators since 1992.

The event was founded in 1989 by the then volleyball trainer at the University of Basel , Peter Nonnebroich. Up to 1991 four teams took part and until 1993 they played in the small hall of the St. Jakobshalle - after that in the big hall.

The best Swiss team is Volero Zurich with two tournament wins so far. The Racing Club de Cannes has participated 18 times to date (2014), and has won six times.
