The Woodhenge Little Catwick located in a quarry in Little Catwick near Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire in England . It was discovered in aerial photographs in 2018 and built from wooden stakes in the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age . The name Woodhenge is based on a henge located in Wiltshire , England . There are around 50 known henge in England, some of them made of wood. The only other in East Yorkshire, however, was stone.

The circle of wooden posts was surrounded by a moat and a wall. Experts believe that there were entrances in the northwest and southeast. In the middle, a pit with burned stones was discovered. The researchers believe it was a burial site. It is possible that corpses were brought there to be cremated and the remains to be buried elsewhere. It is believed that Little Catwick is the oldest "woodhenge" in East Yorkshire.

Little Catwick Quarry is the largest private gravel and sand quarry in Yorkshire.
