World: Have Your Say ( WHYS ) is an English-language radio talk show from the BBC World Service that is broadcast worldwide every weekday from 7:00 p.m. ( CET ). World: Have Your Say won the 2008 Sony Radio Academy Awards in the Audience Participation category.

history

The BBC World Service launched the program in October 2005 with Anu Anand and Steve Richards as presenters and Mark Sandell as editor. Ros Atkins replaced Steve Richards in early 2006 and has been the show's chief presenter ever since. Other moderators are Rabiya Limbada and Peter Dobbie.

The topics of discussion are determined by the listeners, who can write e-mails and SMS messages to the editorial team every day or call the station before the moderators go on the air. Some listeners also use the Facebook page for this purpose . Some of the audience contributions will be read out live during the broadcast. Callers from all over the world can discuss live with each other during the broadcast.

On special occasions, the program is sometimes produced outside of the company. For example, there was a special broadcast from Berlin on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 2009. However, there have already been comparable series of topics for certain regions. In this case, the program was produced from different locations for a week.

In addition to the BBC Word Service, the program was also broadcast on various channels in the USA , India , Turkey and Africa .

World: Have Your Say is also available as a podcast.
