WorldView-1 is a commercial earth observation satellite . It was launched on September 18, 2007 from Vandenberg Air Force Base with a Delta II missile. The satellite was manufactured by Ball Aerospace from the USA.

WorldView delivers images from a height of 496 km with a resolution of 0.5 m ( panchromatic ). In addition, the three-axis stabilized satellite and the data evaluation are very well prepared to record changes in an area compared to previous recordings or stereo images of a region. The images are distributed in cooperation with the company DigitalGlobe , which already operates a satellite for similar tasks with QuickBird .

The WorldView-2 , which was launched in October 2009 , also has the option of recording multispectral images in eight spectral ranges with a resolution of 1.8 m.
