World Games is a sports computer game that was developed in 1986 by the game company Epyx for the Commodore 64 (published in Europe by the US Gold company ). The NES version was published by Milton Bradley, and Rare Ltd. ported.
The game was designed for up to eight players who could take on different nationalities. Everyone could try to get first place in the different sports.
There are eight sports to choose from in eight countries:
- Weightlifting (weightlifting) in Russia
- Slalom skiing in France
- Log roll (log rolling) in Canada
- Cliff jumping (Cliff diving) in Mexico
- Tree trunk throwing (caber toss) in Scotland
- Bull Riding (bull riding) in the USA
- Barrels jumping (jumping barrels) in Germany
- Sumo wrestling (sumo wrestling) in Japan
The game was released for the following systems: Amiga , Amstrad CPC , Apple II , Apple IIGS , Atari ST , Commodore 64 , MSX , Nintendo NES , PC, ZX Spectrum and the Famicom Disk System . In 2004 it was released again on the C64 Direct-to-TV .
