In the 2005 World Games in Duisburg was from 21 to 24 July 2005 at the Sports Park Wedau the Fistball competition of the men discharged. The defending champion was the Austrian national team, which repeated their victory at the World Games with a 3-2 win over Brazil. More than 4000 spectators watched the final game in the sports park.

The six best teams from the previous men's fistball world championship qualified . Two teams from South America and four from Europe took part.
