Requests to speak - The literary prize for critical short texts is a German literary prize that has been awarded annually by the Crespo Foundation since 2018 for “outstanding short literary texts (...) that deal with the socio-political challenges of our time” . The prize is endowed with 35,000 euros. In addition, an associated sponsorship award, endowed with 15,000 euros, will be given to young authors for texts that deal with a topic set by the winner.

The first prize winner in 2018 was the Austrian author Petra Piuk , who was awarded for an excerpt from her novel Toni und Moni or: Instructions for the homeland novel .

The theme formulated by Piuk for the 2018 sponsorship award was “Behind the fence - what brings home to talk?”. The prize was split up and given to the authors Sophie Baumberg , Magdalena Kotzurek and Leona Stahlmann , who each received 5000 euros.

The Austrian writer Thomas Stangl received the award for 2019 for his story Die Toten von Zimmer 105 .

As the topic for the 2019 sponsorship award, Stangl formulated the question “In writing, the dead and the living politely swap places. Or: Can you give death the cold shoulder? ”. The prizes went to Katherina Braschel , Luca Manuel Kieser and Jana Krüger .

The shortlist of literature prizes for 2020 was announced on January 14, 2020; The short text Peasant War Panorama by Kathrin Röggla was awarded the WORTMELDUNGEN literature prize 2020 . The award ceremony has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now to take place on November 1, 2020 in the Kammerspiele des Schauspiel Frankfurt.

The text Bauernkriegspanorama is announced by the Berliner Verbrecher Verlag as the first volume of a “Verbrecher-Schriftenreihe”.
