Vovka Ashkenazi
Wladimir "Vowka" Aschkenasi (English transcription Vovka Ashkenazy ; * 1961 ) is a Russian pianist .
Life
Wowka Aschkenasi was born in Russia as the son of the pianists Wladimir Aschkenasi and Þórunn (Dódý) Jóhannsdóttir. He grew up in Iceland and went to school in England. Ashkenazy works as a concert pianist and piano teacher. In addition to various CD recordings, Wowka Aschkenasi recorded a CD with recordings for two pianos at Decca in 2010 with his father Wladimir.
Aschkenasi lives in Pura , Canton Ticino in Switzerland . His brother is the clarinetist Dimitri Ashkenazy .
