Pura is a municipality in the Magliasina district , in the Lugano district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland and consists of the districts Magliasina and Moriscio.

The village is 387 m above sea level. M. in Val Magliasina and 9 km southwest of the Lugano train station of the Swiss Federal Railways .
history
The village is first mentioned as Piura in 751. Emperor Heinrich V (HRR) 1110 confirmed the abbey of San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro of Pavia their possessions in Pura; In 1296 numerous properties belonging to the Bishop of Como are mentioned there.

Attractions
- Church of San Martino, parish church since 1603. As early as 1352 it is mentioned as a simple church. In 1580 it was enlarged to its present size and in the years 1642–1643 it was rebuilt in the Baroque style and supplemented with a tower.
