Wrantepott is a small settlement in the municipality of Ihlow in East Frisia. It belongs to the district of Riepe and lies between Emden and Riepe. The distance to Riepe is around five kilometers and to Emden around seven kilometers. Wrantepott has about 15 residents.

The small village is located directly on the Ems-Jade Canal , which is a little wider at this point. In Wrantepott there is also the " De Kaat " threshing mill , which is one of the smallest windmills in Germany. It can be viewed on special days.

The settlement goes back to a farm that was probably destroyed by floods during the Christmas flood in 1717 . After that, the residents rebuilt it. The name goes back to the East Frisian-Low German noun wrante-pot , which is translated as grim , sullen, morose person . However, this designation may refer to the fate-ridden farm.
