The municipality of Wuda ( Chinese  乌达 区 , Pinyin Wūdá Qū ; Mongolian ᠤᠳᠠ ᠲᠣᠭᠣᠷᠢᠭ Uda toɣoriɣ ) is a municipality in the prefecture-level city of Wuhai in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region ofthe People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​220 km² and has about 130,000 inhabitants. Wuda is divided into seven street quarters and one large municipality.

In 2012, fossils of a 298 million year old forest were found in Wuda. When the continent of Pangea was formed, the 20-square-kilometer forest disappeared under a huge layer of volcanic ash and is now exceptionally well preserved.
