Wulf-Henning Roth

Wulf-Henning Roth (born May 11, 1945 ) is a German legal scholar .

Professional background

Roth studied law in Munich and Tübingen (1965–1970) and passed his first state examination in 1970 in Munich with one of the two best results of his year in Germany. After successfully studying the Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Harvard in 1972, he completed his second state examination in 1975 in Munich, where he finally received his habilitation in 1983 .

From 1984 to 1985 Roth held a professorship for civil law at the University of Bonn , after which he became a full professor for civil law, business law , international private law and industrial property rights at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1985 to 1989 . Since 1989 Roth has been Professor of Civil Law, International Private Law, Comparative Law and German, European and International Business Law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . There he is director of the Institute for International Private Law and Comparative Law and the Center for European Business Law. He is also the editor of the Common Market Law Review and curator of the Bonn legal journal .

His main areas of work are commercial and business law, international private law and European law .
