The gabled hall house on the Neuer Markt in Herford's Neustadt district was built in 1560 for the councilor and businessman Jobst Wulfert . The ornate stepped gable , which is attributed to Johannes von Brachum , was added later, but before 1579. After various structural changes, the Wulferthaus was restored from 1975 to 1979, the hallway and the four-lane windows were restored to their original form. The house has been a listed building since 1981 .
The Wulferthaus forms an ensemble of buildings with the Neustadt town hall opposite .
