Wulff D. Rehfus
Wulff D. Rehfus (born September 26, 1944 in Zwettl , Austria ; † July 30, 2015 ) was a German philosopher and teacher who represented an influential approach to the didactics of philosophy . He was a founding member of the Langenfeld community founded in 1994.
Life
Growing up in Swabia, he studied a. a. in Tübingen. He received his doctorate in 1976 in Cologne on Theodor W. Adorno . Rehfus was Fachleiter of philosophy at Studienseminar Dusseldorf and 1994-2010 school principal at Annette von Droste-Hulshoff-Gymnasium in Dusseldorf. He worked on the curriculum for philosophy classes in North Rhine-Westphalia from 1976 to 1999 and founded the Langenfeld Symposium .
Didactic approach
Rehfus was the founder of the educational theory-identity theory approach in the didactics of philosophy. This approach aims to educate the student through confrontation with the philosophical tradition, i.e. H. with reading classic texts. Rehfus criticized the dialogical-pragmatic approach of Ekkehard Martens as being insufficiently knowledge-oriented.
In terms of educational policy, like Hermann Giesecke , he criticized the high performance standards of the grammar school and the lack of education for the elite . However, he does not want a reorientation to the Christian religion, but to the cultural heritage of the West as a replacement for the unconditional.
In his book Bildungsnot , Rehfus suggests “to fall back on European tradition as a substitute for the unconditional: on the cultural substance of the past; history understood as the secularized God. The God is then the res gestae , and the interpretation of the Holy Scriptures is then the historia rerum gestarum. "
