X-Lite is a VoIP - freeware from CounterPath Solutions, Inc. (formerly Xten Networks, Inc. enables any user) which phone calls over the Internet to lead from PC to PC, PC to landlines and fixed-to-PC. Some VoIP providers provide their customers with a preconfigured X-Lite.

X-Lite offers the voice codecs G.711 , SPX , iLBC and GSM , under Windows also Broadvoice, DVI4 and LibPCM. There are the services brokering , auto answer and Conference available in version 3 (Windows) also in SIMPLE -based Presence implementation.

Video telephony is possible from version 3, the codec H.263 is supported .

Version 4.0 was released in September 2010 and includes the new features of version 3.0 with the Bria user interface.

For the X-Lite versions, the manufacturer offers paid versions (eyeBeam, Bria and a software development kit (SDK)) with a larger range of functions.
