XYP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

XYP is a six-piece British-Dutch pop band. It was founded in 2006 in Amsterdam with the help of numerous prominent songwriters and music producers, including Gary Barlow and Elliot Kennedy ( Spice Girls , Atomic Kitten ) . Although the three boys and three girls were put together like other casting bands , they differ from comparable bands in that they write and compose their own songs. Her name is an acronym: X and Y stand for the human sex chromosomes , P for project.

In collaboration with the producers behind James Blunt , Dannii Minogue and Christina Aguilera , the band's debut album was created in late 2006. The first single Body to Body extracted from it reached number 1 in the Dutch single charts in early 2007.
