X , also called SBX , is the tenth studio album by the American progressive rock band Spock's Beard and the fourth album after the departure of former band leader and songwriter Neal Morse .

publication

The album was initially released without a label. To finance the production of the album, the band had used a model that the band Marillion had already successfully introduced for their albums Anoraknophobia and Marbles . By ordering in advance and paying in advance, fans could secure the right to a special edition of the album and certain bonuses, which were available in different packages. The limited edition of the album, produced on this financial basis, was released in May 2010 and so far can only be ordered via the homepage. In addition to the seven official titles of the album, it contains a bonus track and thus a total of almost 80 minutes of music. As a special surprise for pre-orderers, the bonus track includes a thank you: In the title Their Names Escape Me , the names of all pre-orderers of the deluxe package are sung.

After negotiations with a label, the standard edition of the album should be available in stores and on online portals such as Amazon and iTunes later this year .
