Xavier Dupré

Xavier Dupré (* 1977 ) is a French graphic artist, typographer and type designer . He became known for the FF Sanuk font .

life and work

Xavier Dupré was born in France in 1977. After studying graphic design in Paris, Dupré studied type design and calligraphy at the Scriptorium de Toulouse . From 1999 Dupré worked in the field of packaging design. Working with Ladislas Mandel was particularly instructive for Dupré. Dupré lived in Southeast Asia from 2001 to 2004. Here Dupré was particularly concerned with the design of the Khmer script . Influences from Asian scripts can be seen in his writings.

The Type Directors Club has awarded Dupré several awards. The Vista Sans 2006, the FF Absara 2005 and the FF Angkoon 2004 received awards.

The FF Sanuk is used in Germany by the parliamentary group of the SPD and the television program Kerner . The Vista Sans font is used by Sony in advertising. The FF Yoga font is used by the French newspaper Le Monde diplomatique .
