Xavier Kuhn (born August 4, 1978 in Sélestat ) is a former French freestyle skier . He specialized in the discipline of ski cross .

biography

As is usual with ski crossers, Kuhn was an alpine skier at the beginning of his sports career . From November 1994 he took part in FIS races , from December 1996 he was used in the European Cup . In 1997 Kuhn became French junior champion in Super-G , plus five victories in FIS races. However, there were no further successes, which is why he contested his last alpine ski race at the end of the 1999/2000 season.

The World Ski Association FIS included Skicross in the program of the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in 2002 . On November 30, 2002, Kuhn took part in the first ski cross world cup race in history in Tignes and immediately achieved fourth place. He celebrated his first victory on January 31, 2004 in Špindlerův Mlýn . In the following years he slipped into midfield and only achieved sporadic results under the top twenty, at world championships he has never got beyond 13th place.

In March 2009 Kuhn was able to achieve a podium result again after more than five years, and on January 9, 2010, the second World Cup victory followed in Les Contamines . At the end of the 2009/10 season he resigned from top-class sport.
