Xenius ( spelling X: enius ) is the weekly knowledge magazine of the Franco-German cultural broadcaster arte . 26 minutes of broadcasting time are dedicated to a special topic from everyday life in the great world of natural and social sciences and current research. Each issue of Xenius deals with an everyday topic with the help of different contribution genres. The magazine is aimed at people of all ages interested in knowledge. It is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 4:40 p.m. +/-.
The show is named after an ancient Greek nickname for the god Jupiter , which stood for hospitality.

The moderators of X: enius are on their way to places of knowledge. The moderators take on a question, the answer of which leads them to places where the topic is treated from different perspectives. With reports, playful experiments and interviews, they organize information there, uncover background information and ask the questions that viewers might ask themselves.

The magazine is moderated alternately by two (since 2012 by three) duos, one German and one French moderator.
