Xenokleides (Chalkis)
Xenokleides was a pro-Roman politician from Chalcis . Together with Mycithion he was the leader of the supporters of Rome in the city, but was unable to prevent the city from taking the side of Antiochus III shortly before the beginning of the Roman-Syrian War (192-188 BC) . and turned against Rome. The absence of the political leader of their opponents Euthymides , who had sought refuge with the Aitolians after his expulsion , and the use of Titus Quinctius Flamininus and Eumenes II on his side prevented the city from falling away.
