Xfburn is free software for writing on (re) writable optical media such as CDs, DVDs and (since 0.5.2) Blu-Rays. It is the burning program of the Xfce desktop environment and is designed as a lean, resource-saving application. It has been developed in the C programming language since 2005 and has been distributed as free software under the terms of the GPL since July 30, 2006 (version 0.1.0alpha) . It is based on the program libraries of the libburnia project. For audio CDs , GStreamer can be used to automatically convert its supported audio file formats (for example MP3, Vorbis and FLAC) to the required CDDA format. Support for multisession fires is still missing. Since 2015, Blu-ray Discs can also be burned with xfburn .
