The Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation and Xi'an Aircraft Company , shortly XAC , Chinese 西安飞机工业集团 , is a Chinese aircraft manufacturer based in Xi'an and part of the consortium AVIC I. founded in 1958 and employs more than 20,000 employees.
Xi'an Aircraft mainly produces military aircraft for the Chinese Air Force and the Navy, as well as civil transport aircraft. XAC has been a supplier to western customers, including Boeing and Airbus, since 1980. In addition, the company manufactures buses, facade parts and other products.
Holdings
Since autumn 2009, Xi'an Aircraft has held the majority (91.25%) in the Upper Austrian aircraft supplier FACC .
