Xiao Kaiyu

Xiao Kaiyu ( Chinese  萧开愚 , Pinyin Xiao Kaiyu * 1960 in the county Zhongjiang , Sichuan Province , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese writer.

Life

He studied traditional Chinese medicine and then worked in a hospital for a few years. Xiao Kaiyu began to work in literature and received a first prize in a literary competition. A first publication of poems took place in 1985. This was followed by a grant as an author and finally a teaching position for art history and aesthetics at the University of Shanghai . In 1995, however, he received a publication ban. After he founded an underground magazine in 1997, he stayed in Germany several times . Including in 2000 in the art association Röderhof im Huy in Saxony-Anhalt . Xiao Kaiyu now lives in Shanghai again .
