The Xijiang Railway Bridge runs the Nanning - Guangzhou high-speed line over the Xi Jiang near Zhaoqing City , Guangdong Province , China . It stands in the Sangrong Gorge a few kilometers above the city, where it connects the railway tunnel on one side with the tunnel on the other. Its construction began in 2009; the route was opened in 2014.
It is one of the ten largest arch bridges in the world.
It should not be confused with the half-timbered construction of the combined road and rail bridge in Zhaoqing.
description
The high-speed route serves both passenger and freight traffic and is driven at up to 250 km / h.
The 618 m long, double-track steel arch bridge crosses the river with a large, bright red-painted arch with a span of 450 m, in which the deck girder is suspended. The arch has an arrow ratio of 4. The two arch ribs are inclined at 4.8 ° to each other from the vertical. They have a lateral center distance of 34 m at the abutments , which is only 15.7 m at the apex.
The four abutments are each 26.6 m long, 12.0 m wide and 23.4 m deep.
The two arch ribs consist of a steel, 4.0 m wide box girder , the height of which tapers from 15.0 m at the abutments to 8.0 m at the top of the arch. They are connected and stiffened above the carriageway girder by 12 crossbeams, also designed as hollow boxes, and below it by 3 K crossbars.
The carriageway girder consists of two parallel, 3.0 m high and 2.0 m wide steel box girders with various cross connections in the form of box girders and double T girders. On top of them there is a 20 cm thick reinforced concrete slab on which 20 cm thick reinforced concrete precast slabs are laid, the joints of which are filled with a particularly elastic concrete.
The arch halves were erected in a cantilever with auxiliary anchoring on high steel pillars standing on the abutments.
