Zhaoqing (肇庆 市, Pinyin : Zhàoqìng shì ) is a district-free city in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong . Zhaoqing is known within China for its Guozhen Zong (肇庆 裹蒸粽). This is a special type of zongzi , pyramid-shaped sticky rice pouches that are wrapped in leaves and cooked for hours with mung beans , pork, salted egg, Chinese sausages, and mushrooms. These one-pound zongzi are eaten hot.

Another important cultural product from Zhaoqing is the Duanyan (端砚) rubbing stone . This grating stone has been extracted in the Duanzhou district since the Tang Dynasty .
