Fengkai ( Chinese  封开县 , Pinyin Fēngkāi xiàn ) is a district in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong . It is located on the Sui River (绥江) in northwest Guangdong, on the border with the neighboring province of Guangxi , and belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Zhaoqing .

geography

The surface shape of Fengkai County is generally mountainous. The Sui River flows through the southern tip of the circle. In addition to the Sui River, the He River (贺 江) is important, which , coming from Guangxi , takes in some tributaries in Fengkai and ultimately flows into the Sui River. The climate is subtropical ; the average January temperature is 11 ° C, the average July temperature around 28.5 ° C. The annual rainfall is around 1450 mm.

With a GDP per capita of almost RMB 7,500 in 2002, Fengkai is well below the provincial average of Guangdong in terms of income.

The mining of gold , tungsten , titanium , iron , tin , manganese , bismuth , molybdenum , granite , marble , graphite , precious stones , mica and around 20 other minerals is of economic importance . The forests of Fengkai are very rich in game and precious woods , bamboo and plants for traditional Chinese medicine are extracted.

In agriculture, in addition to rice and sugar cane , peanuts , broad beans , corn , tobacco , cassava , mulberries and fruit grown.

The industry is mainly based on the processing of wood, natural resin , bamboo and metals, food, machines for wood processing, chemical products, paper and textiles are manufactured.

Fengkai County is part of Zhaoqing City . The circle adjacent Cangwu and the Municipality Wanxiu District (both part of the prefecture-level city Wuzhou ) and the Municipality Babu of the prefecture-level city Hezhou in the west and north-west (all three already in the autonomous region of Guangxi Zhuang), the circle Huaiji in the east, and the districts Deqing and Yun'an in the south. traffic

The main artery is the 321 National Road, which runs through the southern part of the district, parallel to the Sui River , and connects Guangdong with Guangxi . Otherwise, the connection to the neighboring districts and cities is only established via partly poor country roads. There is no rail link. The ports on the Sui River are of limited importance.
