Xincun (Lingshui)
Xincun ( Chinese 新 村镇 , Pinyin Xīncūn Zhèn ) is a large community in the southeast of the Lingshui Autonomous County of the Li in the southern Chinese province of Hainan . Xincun has an area of 60.97 km² and a population of 33,183 (2010 census). The larger community lives primarily from fishing, followed by agriculture and tourism.
Attractions
The nature reserve Nanwan Monkey Island (南湾猴岛 自然保护区) with a large rhesus monkey population is located on the Nanwan Peninsula (南 湾 半岛), which belongs to the administrative area of the large municipality.
Administrative structure
Xincun is made up of a community of residents and ten villages. These are:
- Resident Community Xincun (新村社区), the seat of the municipal government;
- Village Changpo (长坡村);
- Chengpo Village (城 坡村);
- Hai'ou Village (海鸥 村);
- Haiyan Village (海燕 村);
- Haiying Village (海鹰 村);
- Village Jiusuo (九所村);
- Nanwan Village (南 湾村);
- Tonghai Village (桐 海 村);
- Village Yanjin (盐尽村).
