Xinjian ( Chinese  新建 区 , Pinyin Xīnjiàn Qū  - "Newly established district") is a district of the prefecture -level city of Nanchang in the Chinese province of Jiangxi . It has an area of ​​2,337.84 km² and in 2013 had about 710,000 inhabitants. Its main town is the large community of Zhangleng (长 堎 镇).

The district is located in the northwest of Nanchang and is elongated in shape, extending approximately 22 kilometers from the southeast to the northwest and 112 kilometers of kilometers from the southwest to the northeast. The district area belongs to the hill country south of the Yangtze . The average height above sea level is 50 meters with variations ranging from 13 meters in Nanji Municipality to 799 meters high Xiaotan Peak ( 肖 坛 峰 ). particularities

The exile place of Deng Xiaoping , where he lived from October 1969 to February 1973, is located in Wangcheng City . A national memorial has been set up there since 2013. Datangping Township has warehouses that were built in the 19th century during the Qing Dynasty and are now also under protection.
