from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Xpediter is a commercially distributed tool by Compuware for interactive analysis, testing and troubleshooting in programs and applications on mainframes . In the IBM z / OS (formerly MVS) and z / VM (formerly VM / CMS) operating systems , programs written in assembler or in COBOL can be tested and debugged both interactively and in batch mode. According to the provider, working is possible under MVS-TSO, SPF, VM / CMS as well as in the IMS online message region and with CICS applications. Stored procedures can also be examined under DB2.

According to the provider, program execution can be started, interrupted, changed or terminated at any point. Corresponding modifications of the source and object program are not necessary. All field and register contents could be assigned and displayed in hexadecimal or formatted. It is possible to make all actions dependent on the fulfillment of certain conditions so that incorrect or incomplete program parts, modules, databases and screen calls can be simulated. All instructions could be saved and reused at any time. Symbolic labels or hexadecimal addresses are used as reference points.
