Xploding Plastix are a Norwegian DJ duo.
history
The duo was founded in 1999 by Jens Petter Nilsen and Hallvard Hagen. When they sent their first demo recordings to record publishers a year later , they promptly received offers. Their first single, Treat Me Mean, I Need the Reputation , was released on Beatservice Records in 2000 and caught the attention of the electronic music scene. The 2001 debut album Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents (re-released in 2004 as Amateur Girlfriends ) was a huge success. The group's second album was released on Columbia Records . In 2004 the duo worked with the Kronos Quartet .
The Electones is a side project by Nilsen and Hagen with the singer Rita Augestad.
In 2003 Xploding Plastix were awarded the Spellemann Prize for their EP The Benevolent Volume Lurkings .
