Yoko Gushiken ( Jap. 具志堅用高 , Gushiken Yoko * 26. June 1955 in Ishigaki , Japan ) is a former Japanese boxers in the light flyweight .

Professional career

In 1974 he successfully started his professional career. On October 10, 1976, already in his 9th fight, he boxed against Juan Antonio Guzmán for the world title of the association WBA and won by knockout. He lost this belt in his 14th title defense in March 1981 to Pedro Flores .

After this single defeat of a total of 24 fights, of which he won 15 by knockout, he ended his career. In September 1995 he opened the Shirai-Gushiken Sports Gym with Yoshio Shirai .

In 2015 Yōkō Gushiken was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the " Classic Cars " category.
