Yū Hirayama

Yū Hirayama ( Japanese 平 山 優 , Hirayama Yū ; born July 25, 1985 in Miyagi Prefecture ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Yū Hirayama attended the Catholic St. Ursula Middle and High School in Sendai , like her later teammates Ayaka Takahashi and Misaki Matsutomo (high school only), and then the renowned Waseda University . She plays for the Nihon Unisys corporate team .

Yū Hirayama won the women's individual competition at Swedish International Stockholm in 2009 . At the 2006 World Cup, however, she was eliminated in the first round, at the 2009 World Cup in the second round. In the 2006 Uber Cup , she finished fifth with the Japanese women's team, and third four years later. At the Bitburger Open 2009 and the Vietnam Open 2007 she was defeated in the final.
