Yūichi Ikeda

Yūichi Ikeda ( Japanese 池田 雄 一 , Ikeda Yūichi ; born June 7, 1984 ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Yūichi Ikeda attended the Okagaki Middle School in the town of the same name in Fukuoka Prefecture and then the private boys' school Kantō-Daiichi High School in Edogawa in Tokyo Prefecture . During this time he had his first major successes when he was 2001 master in singles at the Inter-High High School Championships ( 高校 総 体 , kōkō sōtai ), which he could repeat the following year and expand to doubles.

In February 2007 he joined Nihon Unisys and has played for their factory team ever since. From 2005 to 2007 he took part in the adult championship and won three times in a row in singles and was third in the singles at the Japanese Badminton Championship in 2008.

Internationally, he won Nigeria International in 2002 and Iran International in 2003. He finished second at the Australian Open last year. In 2004 he won the Giraldilla International, 2008 the Bulgarian International. In 2010 he was successful at Peru International.
